Adoption FAQs
A Double Doodle is usually a mix that brings together Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, and Poodle lines. For our puppies, this means they come from thoughtfully selected doodle parents with the goal of loving temperaments, family-friendly personalities, and lower-shedding coats.
What do F1, F1B, and F1BB mean?
These terms describe the generation of a doodle and how much Poodle is typically in the mix. For example, an F1 is a first-generation cross, while F1B and F1BB usually have more Poodle influence, which can affect coat type, shedding, and allergy-friendliness.
Will your puppies shed?
Because our puppies have Poodle influence, they are expected to be lower-shedding than many traditional breeds. That said, no dog is truly guaranteed non-shedding or hypoallergenic. Coat type, furnishings, curl, and genetics all play a role, so we do our best to educate each family honestly before adoption.
How does the adoption process work?
Families usually start by joining our interest list or filling out an application. Once we connect and make sure it feels like a good fit, we’ll talk through availability, answer questions, and help you decide if one of our puppies is the right match for your family.
To officially reserve a puppy, we require a signed puppy agreement and a $500 non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance is due at pickup, and puppies go home around 8 weeks old.
Most of our puppies are expected to have soft, wavy to curly coats depending on the pairing. Some coats may be more relaxed and wavy, while others may curl more as they grow. We’ll help explain what we’re seeing as the puppies develop.
Are your puppies good for families with children?
Yes, our puppies are raised in our home and around our family, including our children. We focus on early handling, normal household sounds, and age-appropriate socialization so they are used to family life before going home.
What is included when we bring our puppy home?
Our puppies go home with age-appropriate care, deworming, first vaccines near go-home age, vet check information, records, and support from us as they transition into your home. We want every family to feel prepared, not rushed.
What size will the puppies be?
Size depends on the parents and the specific pairing. For Indiana and Preach’s puppies, we expect them to be in the medium to small-standard range, roughly around 35–55 pounds as adults, though individual puppies can vary.
